Axel Rudi Pell

AXEL RUDI PELL is both: name and program. He was born under this name, in Germany’s steel and coal region, in Bochum. And his band also bears this name: AXEL RUDI PELL.

As a hard rock and heavy metal guitarist, he is one of the most successful German rock soloists and has been in process for more than 30 years. His debut album “Wild Obsession”, recorded with his first band STEELER, was released in 1984 and found great attention among the critics. More albums followed – despite this, the formation broke in 1989. AXEL RUDI PELL gathered new musicians as a band under his own name and continued on the road to success. Again and again the cast changed, but AXEL RUDI always managed to find high-ranking musicians for his band, e.g. drummer Bobby Rondinelli (ex-Rainbow/Black Sabbath/Blue Öyster Cult), Johnny Gioeli (ex-Hardline), Yngwie Malmsteen or Tony MacAlpine. These changes in the line-up are, of course, reflected in the music-style.

In January 2016, ARP released his latest album “Game of Sins” – he will surely play some of the songs at Loreley. AXEL RUDI PELL – this name stands for high-profile live-shows, first-rate guitar playing and real rocking anthems, and RockFels fans can look forward to it from now on.
