More than 40 years ago, Chris von Rohr has established KROKUS in Solothurn
(Switzerland) - a melting pot for many bands. Initially the band played progressive rock, but celebrated its greatest successes in the first half of the 80s with a straight hard rock. Therefore the band was often compared to AC/DC.
Despite numerous successes with platinum and gold awards and the honorary citizenship of Memphis/Tennessee, the band was denied even bigger achievements due to countless lineup changes. Not until the 14th album “Rock the block”, KROKUS could regain this again – it was the first No.1 album in their homeland.
With the completed reunification of the original line up in 2008, the band managed to significantly increase of their meantime lost international reputation again.
In 2015, KROKUS toured across the United States with club shows and festivals, was even in the heavy metal cruise “Monsters of Rock Cruise” case, and performed at the end of the tour at the legendary rock club “Whisky a Go Go” in Los Angeles.
After the last studio album “Dirty Dynamite” in 2013, KROKUS is working on a new album that will be released in autumn 2016 or in spring 2017. And fans can look forward to some these new pieces of music being presented at the RockFels Festival 2017.
